Abstract

Abstract
Juvenile delinquency is behavior that deviates from the habit or violates the law. Juvenile
delinquency can be avoided if the role of family is well functioning and individuals have self
control. This study aims to determine the role of family functions and self control of juvenile
delinquency. This type of research is correlational. The study population was 71 students of
class X SMK in North Jakarta. The sampling method uses saturated sampling. The measuring
instruments used in this study are family function scale, self control scale and juvenile
delinquency scale. Data analysis techniques used to test the hypothesis are Bivariate
Correlation and Multivariate Correlation. The results showed that there was a role of family
function with juvenile delinquency with (r) of -0.316, there was a role of self control with
juvenile delinquency with (r) of -0.662, and there was a role of family function and self
control with juvenile delinquency R = 0.639. Simultaneously give an effective contribution of
40%. Self control contributes 39% with (R) 0.396 to juvenile delinquency. While family
function contributes 40% - 39% = 1% to juvenile delinquency. Based on these findings it can
be concluded that there is a role for family functions and self control of juvenile delinquency
in SMK X North Jakarta.
