Abstract

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to understand the meaning of the article on tirto.id instagram which
was posted on November 21, 2017, which reads " millennial is unloyal employee", by using Norman
Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis. This study was to determine “how is the construction of
discourse on tirto.id Instagram online media” seen from Norma Fairclough’s Critical Discourse
Analysis.The results of the analysis showed that from aspects of text analysis there are thematic
promoted as the main idea of the tirto.id instagram article. namely to convey the idea that millennial
is a generation that is not loyal to the company. The aspect of text production analysis, then it was
discovered that the text in Instagram Tirto was merely used as a marketing tool to attract more visits
to the Tirto.id portal website and increase the amount of traffic. Furthermore, in the aspect of social
analysis, it is known that millennial disloyalty is not entirely true. This tendency can certainly be seen
from various perspectives. In fact, there are many millennials who are productive and breakthrough.
