Abstract

Shallow foundation construction is still largely carried out using manual methods or cast-in-place techniques. These methods result in material waste, lengthy construction times, and inconsistent work quality. Moving forward, it is expected that shallow foundation construction will utilize precast elements. Relevant work standards for shallow foundations can be found in SNI 8460-2017 (Geotechnical Design Requirements) and SNI 2847/RSNI 2847-202x (Structural Concrete Requirements for Buildings). Standards for the precast elements themselves follow SNI 7833-202x (Design Standard for Precast and Prestressed Concrete for Buildings – Part 1).
