Abstract

The potential of wetland agriculture in producing biomass is very large in contributing to various products, including new and renewable materials, one of which can be used as an intermediate raw material in the process of continuing innovative work. This potential requires the design of a tool that can produce material quickly according to the required mesh. The research objective was to design a supply device of biomass base material. The effectiveness of the tools was related to capacity (kg/hour), yields, how much losses had occurred, and energy needs were the basis for scale-up on an industrial scale. Application of the engineering drawing method when designing was using AutoCAD version 2021. The innovative design results were found in the chopping knife design and the mesh size of the final product. The tool was operated at a capacity of 50 kg/hour with a shaft rotation of 140 rpm. The resulting biomass material was 60 -80 mesh in size, with a yield of 3 (three) types of biomass, which were tested on an average of 87.620%. Losses averaged by 12,380%. The power used in the operation of the tool was 846.42 Watts using 4 L of diesel fuel per batch. The design results had advantages in terms of the speed of the production process and the expected mesh size. Likewise, the use of fuel was much more efficient. The recommendation in the future is that the operation is carried out on a device that is designed continuously so that it can reduce losses.
