KAJIAN ELEMEN PEMBENTUK RUANG KOTA PADA RUANG TERBUKA PUBLIK KOTA (Studi Kasus : Alun-Alun Karanganyar)

Abstract

Square is one example of public open space in city that functionate as community social activities space. Beside social function, square also have other functions, that is ecology function that aims to keep environment quality and economic function that aims to increase economy in the city. Considering the important role of square in a city, then a public open space must designed by considering urban design elements in order to function properly. So is square in Karanganyar that become district center and center of community social activities. But in fact, social activities in the square still have low of number. This research aims to describe urban design elements in square of Karanganyar using descriptive analysis method. The result describe that low of number of community social activities in square of Karanganyar caused by urban design elements in the square has not been designed well enough and has to be fixed.
