Abstrak

This study aims to identify the factors causing mud crab price fluctuations in Lamuru Village, its impact on collectors, and mitigation strategies based on Sharia economics. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological approach involving six collector informants. The results indicate that price fluctuations are dominated by market mechanisms (supply and demand) and distribution efficiency, rather than seasonal factors. The main impact of these fluctuations is the risk of financial loss if market prices drop suddenly after collectors purchase from fishermen. Collectors mitigate operational risks by accelerating stock turnover (1–3 days of storage) and implementing flexible payment systems. Viewed from Sharia economics, these trading practices generally align with Islamic law and avoid elements of riba, gharar, or maisir because final pricing is based on mutual consent (an-taradhin) before the contract. Fisherman loyalty is maintained through trustworthiness and mutual assistance (ta'awun), and there are practices reflecting the wakalah contract in helping market crabs among members. However, the implementation of formal partnership contracts such as mudarabah and musyarakah remains difficult due to limited understanding and fishermen's price commitments
