Abstract

Citizenship Education (Civics) in primary schools plays a very important role in shaping
students' personalities as responsible citizens, understanding their rights and obligations,
and having character in accordance with the values contained in the 1945 Constitution and
Pancasila. The main goal of this education is to create a young generation that is smart,
innovative, responsible, and has good morals. However, in practice, traditional teaching methods are often less interesting and effective in conveying moral concepts and civic
values that should be applied by students. This research aims to develop an educational
website based on YouTube API that integrates educational videos as learning media for
Civics material in elementary school. By using video mashup technique and YouTube API,
this website will provide easy access for students to watch relevant learning materials in
an interactive and fun way. The integration of videos from YouTube allows Civics subject
matter to be delivered in a more engaging manner, increasing effectiveness in the teaching
and learning process. The methodology used in this research is observation, interview, and
journal review. Observations were conducted to collect data on the needs and barriers in
Civics learning at SDN Kutajaya 1, while interviews with teachers and students aimed to
obtain information related to their experiences and expectations of the use of technology
in learning. A journal review was conducted to identify various studies related to the use
of YouTube APIs in educational contexts.One of the main aspects in this study is the use
of YouTube APIs. This API facilitates the retrieval of video data, descriptions, and other
metadata in JSON format, so that it can be further processed to meet the learning needs of
the designed website. With this approach.
