Abstract

Adolescence is a period of transition from childhood to adulthood. During adolescence, a
person faces various problems, such as physical, social, mental, and emotional changes. At
this period, they have abundant energy; on the other hand, they lack self-regulation skills.
Adolescents are prone to have mental and emotional issues such as anxiety, depression, sleep
disturbances, to the idea of hurting themselves. Mindfulness therapy helps individuals learn
to observe thoughts, and emotions. This study aims to determine the relationship between
mindfulness therapy and self-regulation in adolescents with mental and emotional problems.
Methods. Thirty patients enrolled to this study at a single center. Pearson correlation tests
analyzed this cross-sectional design data. Results The correlation test's results on mindfulness
and self-regulation variables showed a value of 0.848 (Strong). Conclusion. it can be
concluded that mindfulness therapy strongly correlates with adolescent self-regulation and
mental-emotional improvement.
