HUBUNGAN ANTARA TRAIT CONSCIENTIOUSNESS DAN KONSEP DIRI DENGAN STRES AKADEMIK SISWA IPA SMA X TAMBUN

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between trait conscientiousness and selfconcept
with academic stress uses quantitative methods. Subjects in this study were
science students of X high school in Tambun with a total of 140 samples using
Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling techniques. The results of this study by using
Bivariate Correlation indicate that there is a negative relationship between trait
conscientiousness with academic stress with r = - 0,507 and p = 0,000 < 0,05. There is a
negative relationship between self-concept with academic stress with r = - 0,376 and p =
0,000 < 0,05. Based on Multivariate Correlation analysis, there is a significant
relationship between trait conscientiousness and self-concept with academic stress with R
= 0,529 and p = 0,000 <0,05 and known coefficient of determination R Square of 0.280.
This means that the effective contribution of conscientiousness and self-concept to
academic stress is 28%, while 72% is a contribution from other factors not examined.
