Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between self control and self efficacy with academic
procrastination among students in class XI of SMAIT Raflesia Depok. On this research academic procrastination is
dependent variable, self control is the first independent variable, and self efficacy is the second independent variable.
The population in this research is students in class XI of SMAIT Raflesia Depok. The sampling method used in this
study is census method and the total sample is of 67 students. The measuring instruments used were academic
procrastination scale, self control scale, and self efficacy scale. The results of bivariate correlation analysis test
showed that there is a negative relationship between self control and academic procrastination with a correlation
coefficient of r = -0,759 and there is a negative relationship between self efficacy and academic procrastination with
a correlation coefficient of r = -0,663. While, the result of multivariate correlation analysis test showed that there is
a relationship between self control and self efficacy with academic procrastination with a multiple correlation
coefficient R = 0,779. Based on the results of regression test with stepwise showed that self control and self efficacy
contributed 60,7% towards academic procrastination with dominant contributed 57,7% from self control.
