Implementasi Simple Queue Dalam Mengoptimalkan Jaringan Internet Untuk Peningkatan Qos Pada Sekolah Dasar Negeri 65 Kota Bengkulu

Abstract

The utilization of information and communication technology in education has made internet networks an essential facility for supporting learning processes, administration, information retrieval, and communication. Sekolah Dasar Negeri 65 Kota Bengkulu has utilized an internet network to support various school activities. However, based on observations, bandwidth utilization in the network has not been optimally managed, resulting in uneven bandwidth distribution among users. This condition may affect network service quality, particularly when the network is simultaneously accessed by staff, teachers, and students. The problems identified include unstable access speeds, suboptimal delay and jitter values, and the occurrence of packet loss. Therefore, this study aims to implement Simple Queue on MikroTik devices to optimize bandwidth utilization and improve the Quality of Service (QoS) of the internet network at Sekolah Dasar Negeri 65 Kota Bengkulu. The research method used is an experimental method involving observation and measurement of network conditions before and after the implementation of Simple Queue. The implementation was carried out by managing and limiting bandwidth based on user groups, namely staff, teachers, and students. Network quality was measured using QoS parameters, including throughput, delay, jitter, and packet loss, referring to the TIPHON standard. The research stages consisted of literature review, observation, interviews, network condition analysis, Simple Queue configuration design, bandwidth management implementation, and testing and analysis of measurement results before and after implementation. The results indicate that the implementation of Simple Queue improved bandwidth management and distribution on the internet network at Sekolah Dasar Negeri 65 Kota Bengkulu. After implementation, network quality improved, as indicated by increased throughput, reduced delay and jitter, and decreased packet loss. These results demonstrate that Simple Queue can optimize bandwidth utilization and improve network service quality based on QoS parameters. Therefore, the implementation of Simple Queue on MikroTik can serve as an effective solution for improving the stability and quality of the internet network, thereby supporting learning activities, administrative processes, and other digital activities at Sekolah Dasar Negeri 65 Kota Bengkulu.
